Origin Of The Honey Bun
My son is one and a half years old. He has the worst diaper rash that he has ever had, and we have been experimenting with various things to put on it. My wife, being favorable to natural treatments, broke out my stash of raw honey (the creamy kind that it $7.00 for a small jar) and generously rubbed it into my son’s butt. All day we have been calling him “honey butt,” and “sticky buns,” and it got me to thinking: What is the origin of the honey bun?
I have researched it a bit online and only come up with a murder over honey bun, nicknames for children, and explanations for women’s behinds. I would really like to know the real origin of the honey bun. I personally think that it may just be that people put honey on their kids butts for diaper rash and so honey buns was born (and sticky buns too!). This is only speculation, but for our minds’ sake, let’s just say that some baker came home and heard his wife call their children honey buns and went to make the eternally famous pastry. Anyone with a better line of reasoning is encouraged to leave a reply.
